The Utmost is the finest expression of our most iconic saddle. Made with materials of the very-highest quality, and having each piece refined, redesigned or upgraded, it took years of painstaking development to bring about, and is simply the finest leather saddle Brooks has ever made — the result of persistence bordering on obstinacy in pursuit of a saddle worthy of more than a century of heritage. To reach this point, we travelled back and forth to the tanneries, poring over details, testing, discarding and beginning again. The leather we ultimately secured is the highest grade we have ever worked with: supple without weakness, resilient without rigidity, and destined to age with grace. It is minimally dyed to preserve the inherent beauty of the hide. The rails have been replaced with new tubular stainless steel — deftly light, dazzlingly strong — and the tension pin, so often overlooked, has been completely redesigned to truly endure. The fine craftsmanship required to assemble each saddle remains entirely unchanged.
