New York

Around Manhattan and over the Williamsburg Bridge,
a day in New York with a bon vivant.

Kyle’s Detour

1. SoulCycle
12 E 18th St New York, NY 10003
SoulCycle is an indoor-cycling dance party, whose beat-matched choreography inspired me to exercise regularly. Funny enough, it also inspired my love of outdoor cycling by instilling a desire to keep on pedalling.

2. Cocktail Kingdom
36 W 25th St, 5th Floor New York, NY 10010
Cocktail Kingdom is a modern mixologist’s one-stop shop for premium bar tools, glassware, ingredients. You might even get to peruse their massive collection of vintage cocktail books.

3. Fellow Barber
33 Crosby St New York, NY 10013
Today’s craft bartender should maintain a look befitting of their bespoke cocktails. Also, handy for a regular imbiber like myself, they offer a restorative hangover treatment.

4. Williamsburg Bridge
33 Crosby St New York, NY 10013
The quintessential New York suspension bridge, and a perfectly designed bike path. It links my two stomping grounds of the lower east side, and Brooklyn, and I ride it daily along with thousands of other Brooklynites.

5. Smorgasburg
33 Crosby St New York, NY 10013
The market for foodie lovers, and a regular Saturday morning favourite outside in the summer sun, and as winter rolls in it gets tucked away in nearby Industrial City in Sunset Park. Whether I’m picking up antique cocktail equipment in the flea market, or fresh ingredients for my latest mix, it’s the perfect spot.

6. Lighthouse
145 Borinquen Place, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Honest, sincere food and drink. I’ve frequented Lighthouse’s weekend brunch for their awesome Chilaquiles. Better yet, stop by in the evening for dinner and enjoy one of their clever cocktails alongside a seasonally inspired dish.

“ The world is too big to live small. Explore potential, pursue passion and sign the bar tab of life with the pen of possibility.”
