Bespoked 2015 Gallery
The dust is now slowly starting to settle on Bespoked 2015 and it was great to see the event return to it’s spiritual home of Bristol and the show spread out into two venues, Brunel’s Old Station and Contemporary Art centre Arnolfini. Brunel’s was devoted to bikes and Arnolfini to extra-curricular items like Clothing, Bike Luggage, Art Prints and Publications. The range and diversity of the bikes on display leaps forward ever year and the standard of Framebuilding in the UK has perhaps never been higher, we certainly did not envy the judges. Exceedingly loud and technical paint-jobs seemed to be the biggest new trend this year with Field, Donhou and Fetska leading the way on this. Another noticeable trend was The Bicycle Academy of Frome’s Alumni populating the winners table, with no less than 6 of their former students scooping awards, including bes in Show. Then there was everything else imaginable from Modern Minimalist to Retro Classic to Wooden Carbon Mix to Cargo Tandem Tricycles. Can’t wait for next year. Best in Show - Rowan Frameworks Best Road - Donhou Cycles Best Off-Road - Schwarf Cycles Best Touring - Hallett Handbuilt Cycles Best Track - Moss Cycles Best Cyclo-Cross - Saffron Frameworks Best Use of Alternative Materials - Craddock Frameworks Best Utility Bicycle - Hartley Cycles Best New Frame Builder - Rowan Frameworks The Steve Worland Innovation Award - Longstaff Cycles Spirit of Cycling Award - Camille Macmillan Best Finish/Paint - Satoma Cycles We will be following up on the winners next week with an interview with Timmy Rowan of Rowan Frameworks and Caren Hartley of Hartley Cycles.  For now enjoy some of our favourite images from the show.
