Part of an old Brooks Tradition

Challenge Tool Bag
As a highly skilled leather worker of 35 years I find Brooks saddle bags and leather goods are of excellent quality and design. What I will say in response to some people asking for ranges of sizes and customised products, is that a medium to large sized manufacturer cannot provide such flexibility and keep costs down.

Producing "One offs" is very expensive, I should know that is what I do. Basically I am saying Brooks products are excellent both in workmanship and value for money but if you want something customised there are also plenty of Independents out there in the UK and elsewhere who would be glad of the work. so don't be scared to search them out.

Brooks keep up the good work, you are promoting quality which helps us "Indies" as well

Of course these bags are expensive. Quality always is. You can always find someone who makes things cheaper. But sheer quality and beauty - gently improving as the item gets older - is still appreciated by the buyer long, long after the cost has been forgotten.

I have had the privilege of owning a Brooks Swift Ti for several years and have put somewhere in the range of 20K miles on it with no issues. I value the comfort which is rivaled by no other and they are a handsome addition to any ride. Bravo Brooks...

I just love how thick the leather is. Stitching and rivets are perfectly done. I bought one in brown to match the colour of the Champion Special saddle. For sizing reference, it will fit a maximum of two spare tubes and maybe a pair of tire levers. I plan not to carry too much on my little Brompton.

I bought a nice challenge tool bag in honey color. Very nice with my B17 narrow also honey colored . I placed that on my mtb giant. very nice all together. The toolbag is treated with proofride and hold all i need with the bike. Not a pump because that is on the bike allready. It's not to big or heavy but just right. Good old craftsmenship is shown here very good brooks keep on going i just love your stuff.

Challenge Tool Bag
I purchased a brooks saddle with my bike, at counterbalance in seattle. The saddle is awesome. The challenge tool bag I got to go with it is not so good. The hangers on the saddle have cut through the hanging straps. Even though I reenforced the straps with dense rubber straps, the straps are shot. I need to replace this not cheap/ cheap imported leather bag with something robust. Electric tape on the hangers might help, too.

A> All of our Leather bags are now made in England including the Challenge.
I know people drone on and on about it, but it is true. If you can make your saddles in house or UK, the bags can be made there too. I really find it hard to believe that Chinese stitching is superior to English bench made. There are outfits like Swaine Adeney that still do it, so can you. The Chalenge Toolbag I recieved from one of your stockists, I truly felt was a waste of money at the price point. Charge us what it costs but give us a quality English made product.

Challenge Tool Bag
I have to admit that I am a true fan of brooks saddle and that I cannot imagine riding anything else. However, I am disappointed about the lack of functionality of the tool bag. Fitting in a spare tube and a pump is not proctical. I strongly recommend to rethink the sizing of the tool bag.

Color, style and leather quality not like depicted!
Ordered "antique brown", but the actual item delivered looks like a cheap copy of the depicted. Different leather (plain, surface painted), different hardware of lesser quality. Picture is probably an idealised prototype, never realised on that level. On the other hand, built quality is perfect.
