The Knog Film FestivalEvents Bicycles Art & Design
Here's a fine Brooks-Knog "collabo". Our Team Pro with now rarely seen mini-Knog on top of a Kinfolk. Knog will be known to many readers as the company which made its name producing those rather practical little bike lights that come housed inside flexible, handy, brightly coloured rubber shells. In the past few years the company has gone on to make Knog locks, Knog gloves, even Knog bicycle computers. And now they're running a Film Festival too. Within the purview of the Festival they're running a Film Contest. You can enter one to be in with a chance of winning all sorts of great prizes, some of which have been provided by Brooks. The rules are fairly straightforward. (1) Your film should be shot at night, preferably outdoors in order to best reflect the night-ness. (2) It should also not take longer than a minute to watch. (3) You should furthermore use some kind of light source to banish all the night-induced darkness. (4) And your "short" should have riding a bicycle as its leitmotif (no pun intended). There's a Knog jury of experts to decide on the aesthetic merits of all that which gets submitted, but there's also a People's Choice Award, so if you get enough of your friends to vote for your filmic efforts, you might be able to make off with a Trouser Strap! Monday 7th October is the deadline for sending entries. Winners will be announced the following Saturday at the festival. Knog cordially invites all auteurs to the Prizegiving in Melbourne, Australia, but sadly aren't willing to cover your travel costs. Here's one of the current favourites. If you think you can do better, then crack out that camcorder and get busy at the weekend.
