Part of an old Brooks Tradition

B17 S Standard
I have been a commuter for several years now aboard a Devinci Monaco "hybrid" I have gone thru all the expensive perches that I can bear to sit upon. 2years ago I purchased a B17 standard. This saddle has proven itself to be head and shoulders above all contenders in my humble opinion. At the risk of sounding pedantic, I will say that I will NEVER sit on any other brand of saddle henceforth. Nothing else can compare to my B17. And I have tried 'em all! Excellent work and I would gladly pay double to have this saddle on my bike! Keep up the fantastic work Brooks, you have a customer for life in me.

Q > Will a B17S Special ever be produced? I would like to get the shorter saddle, but I also love the larger copper rivets!
A > The B17 S Special already exists under the name of Team Pro S. Despite the different name, the saddles have the same top. The Finesse is their expensive sister with titanium rails.

I'm in love with Brooks saddles. I first had a B17 aged and then upgraded with swift chrome and titanium my two bikes. I try to convince my girlfriend to get one, but she is scared because "it's hard"! Anyway, I was wondering does women really need Short saddle? I suppose it's larger in the middle, but I found my regular B17 already quite large... I actually wanted to propose her the narrow version, for her racing bike (also for the aesthetic ;) ). Could you advise me on this point please? Thx!
answer - Not necessarily!  What is important here is rider size.  Please visit a Brooks Dealer of Excellence to find out more.

No saddle cover
I am really excited to get my saddle today all the way to Australia from the UK. I have wanted a Brooks saddle for many years. I am sure it will be wonderful.

I just wanted to clarify a couple points I saw on reviews somewhere. Someone stated they should provide a first application of the care product. My package did have a first time application, so they must have listened to the consumer.

Someone stated they didn't have to worry about the rain because Brooks supplied a rain cover with the saddle. There was no free rain cover with the saddle. I never read that there was one on the product description, just in a review somewhere. So, when you buy the product, there is no rain cover. I'll buy that separately. Please recommend one for my ladies b17 standard.

I am so excited. ;-)

I have had a normal non-leather saddle in a male shape. On longer rides or tours my lower back began to hurt. Altough I have very sensitive skin, I wanted to dare to spend more money for a "hard" Brooks leather saddle. Great idea! I'm very pleased with my B17 S, the first 100 km were hard, then it began to become more comfortable. Now I don't want to do without my leather saddle! It's not only prettier to look at, but also comfortable to ride on. So I highly recommand to spend some money on a good Brooks saddle... :)

I love my B17 S Standard saddle, but I have to agree with other customers that if Brooks thinks that using Proofide for the first ride is important, it should provide a small tin with the purchase of all models. Why does Brooks only provide it with it's premium brands? This policy makes no sense at all.

Hi,

Why doesn't the B17 S come in all the awesome colors that the B17 men's version does?
A> We sell far fewer of the S models, we're afraid...

Would you have a B17 S standard (or B17 S Imperial) in apple green or green or is it only the B17 standard (gent model) that is available in those colors?

Regards,

So.L.

Love love love this saddle. Fits like a glove and unlike all other seats i have tried -- i never ride thinking about when my back side will begin to hurt or chafe . I ride this saddle off road in rough terrain and on and in blazing central Texas heat. One complaint-- due to the short useable section of the rails on the B-17 i am limited to the bikes i can put this saddle on--- or have to have a truck load of seat posts with different set backs to accommodate it. I know you have longer rails on some of your other models but even they are somewhat short---- please please consider designing new rails with the longest possible adjustably....

I still love this saddle.

I purchased the b17s , I fitted it to my giant trekking bike and I'm very happy with the quality of the of the saddle the only problem I have is that I can not get the saddle back far enough . I have purchased a seatpost with 40mm setback and I'm hoping this will work for me .
