Made in England

The D-Shaped Bag was featured in Brooks Catalogues as far back as 1910. This innovative design features a two piece construction which, whilst the outer sleeve remains permanently attached to the saddle, has an inner purse that may be removed so that its owner may retain it, thus securing its valuable contents. The purse is attached to the sleeve by a "Sam Browne" fixing, preventing it from sliding out, even under extreme conditions.

D-Shaped Tool Bag
Fantastic bag! I live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and ride a cross bike. Extreme weather from blizzards, to rain, wind, and heat can happen in one afternoon. The bag has been doused and dragged through ice and mud and has held up exceptionally well. Enough room for a spare tube, tools, wallet, and phone. Convenient for sliding out and going into the coffee shop. I wouldn't trade this bag if you paid me double for it. Well, maybe. Then I could buy two.

D-Shaped Tool Bag
Q > I just purchased a D-shaped Tool Bag. Since I have two bikes with Brooks Saddles, I'd like to use the bag on each bike. Is it possible to purchase a second holder? That way I could have two holders "permanently attached" to the saddles and just move the bag.
A > Currently it is not possible, but this is a good idea, so thanks for sharing it.

D-Shaped Tool Bag
Having purchased a honey-colored B17 for my vintage road bike, it seemed entirely appropriate to add a D-Shaped Tool Bag. In addition to my small set of tools, the inner purse safely encloses a spare tube, my ID, a credit card, and my iPhone.

The bag works so well - and so does the saddle - that when I'm out for a long ride I put both on my modern road bike, too.

I got the D-shaped tool bag in honey and i love it!! it's very attractive and the colour matches my saddle perfectly. Its just the right size for my phone, bank card, keys, lip balm and seat cover! not used it for tools yet at all!! The beautiful appearence means it looks like a nice clutch bag when out of the holder and carried so i dont have to bother lugging a handbag around. I have fixed it to my handle bars as I have no hooks on my saddle and it sits there perfectly! No bouncing around or swinging. I do get a bit worried that someone might have off with the holder but as yet no one has, maybe as they can see it is empty and useless with out the inner bag. Lovely, well made product i would definately recommended it!!

Received my D Bag today and am very happy with my purchase. Matches my B15 Swallow Select saddle perfectly. For me it's just the right size for a multitool, wallet and phone.

D-Shaped Tool Bag
Once again another superb quality item from Brooks. The legend inside the bag reads "This is an original Brooks England tool bag first produced in the 1900's ..." simple timeless, classic design and quality craftsmanship. Brooks products actually make me want to get back on my bike which for me is no mean feat in itself!

Please let me know if you move production back to the UK so that I can buy this bag. I am one of those cranky customers that doesn't want to hang a MADE IN CHINA product from my saddle.

A> The D-Shaped bag is now MADE IN ENGLAND!
It is a great shame that a customer from Bilston, only a few miles from Smethwick, tries to support local industry only to see that the bag is made in China. A great shame for those who wish to buy quality local products.

D-Shaped Tool Bag
I love the design and quality of my D-Shaped Bag. However, it has one potentially dangerous flaw: the buckle mechanism does not allow you to tuck the protruding strap in anywhere. Today for the second time on a short and not very hectic commute the entire bag worked itself loose and fell onto what was luckily a quiet road. Minor damage to the, none to contents but it could have caused an accident, especially to a cyclist behind me.

D-Shaped Tool Bag
I can say to be a real Brooks fan and very proud of my 4 saddles (1 Swift Chrome. 1 B17 Narrow Imperial, and 2 Team Pro Chrome together with a B17Std plus a beautiful Green Challenge tool bag all mounted on my 4 vintage racing bicycles and 1 old 1965 Bianchi sport bike.

RecentlyI bought from local bicycle shop a D-Shaped tool bag (honey) at € 90.00.

Only after having installed the outer sleeve on one of my racing bicycle handlebar, I was surprised to notice that "Brooks" logo is stamped upsidedown respect the logo stamped on the inner purse... the ‘Sam Brown’ fixing has been wrongly mounted.

Should I have to consider a rarity the item missed out from yr quality control ?

considering buying this bag for my pashley guv'nor. three questions: what's the best color to match my brooks titanium b17 seat? and, why the complaints about the way the bag hangs? can i mount on the handlebars as well?
A> The bag will match the colour of the leather.
We do not undertstand the coomplaints about the way the bag hangs, perhaps some people insit that the bag hang perfectly perpendicular to the ground?  This bag may also be mounted from the handlebar, and is in fact recommended.
