Width: 153 mm
Height: 62 mm
Weight: 520 g
Frame: Steel

This version of the B15 Swallow is made with our extra tough, organic leather for high mileage cyclists. It also features our hand hammered copper rivets.
The B15 Swallow is a faithful reproduction of a saddle specifically conceived with the sporting cyclist in mind, the result being a timeless design widely regarded as the precursor of all modern racing saddles. This saddle was originally patented as long ago as 1937. At that time a great many such Brooks Saddles were exported to the continent, where they were very popular amongst professional cyclists competing in the various tours and stage races. Today's Swallow still proudly bears the original patent declaration on the tensioning plate
beneath the svelte leather upper. This text retains the word “deposé”, the patent application for the Swallow having initially been registered in the Paris patent office.

Re-establishing an old Brooks tradition

Why no white saddles of any description?

A> Producing white leather is a much longer process that our production schedule will not allow for.

I rode a B15 Swallow Titanium around the world last year. It broke in quickly, leaving me with 18,000 miles to count my blessings for a superb choice. The titanium rails in particular provided slight flex - absorbing some road vibration. The general design and quality suited my (quite demanding) needs perfectly and it was utterly reliable.
I didn’t look after it well at all: I failed to shield it from the rain and I nourished it only with olive oil and sweet. Yet it still looks like it could do the same distance again without worry.
I’ve “retired” that particular bike now so I can always look back at the machine exactly as I rode it through triumph and adversity (my journey set a Guinness World Record). Most components are badly worn anyway, but retiring that saddle feels like a crime – thankfully I have more bikes and more Brooks saddles for more adventures!

More of a general comment on the service received concerning a new saddle that turned out to be defective - the problem was resolved extremely well by Brooks who definitely went "above and beyond" duty's call. Gold Standard!
The replacement saddle has had its maiden run and is perfect.
Very satisified.

I guess that this saddle might be congenial with a racing bicycle, however, I "misused" it as a saddle for my touring bicycle and it lost suspension very quickly until the extent where it couldn't be further suspended (after about half a year and very roughly esteemed 8'000 km). I sent it to the retailer and fortunately, they gave me a new saddle.

A> This saddle is really only for use with racing bicycles, we're afraid.

I am 12 years old and want to have a brooks saddle. I've read on your webpage that people thinks the seats are very comforrable. I'm about 1.7 meters high. Would I could experience the same comfort?

A> Yes, you can also expect to enjoy great comfort when using the Swallow.  Happy Riding!

I am having a problem with my B17 ladies saddle in so much as it stains my clothing. I have used the proofhide on it from time to time, but I think the black colour must come out of it as the seat of my trousers, after riding the bike for a while, turns grey.

I have had the saddle for 3 years now and do not want to change it as I have broken it in nicely, but do need a solution. Do you have one? (apart from wearing black trousers all the time!!!)

A> All leather saddles (including the ones made by our competitors) stain light clothing over time.  The best solution is to use a saddle cover when wearing light trousers.  This is also the reason that cycling shorts traditionally are black.
