After months of careful deliberation I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a Brooks Swallow for my upcoming Lands End to John O'Groats ride. Why didn't I do it sooner? After around 250-300 miles the out of the box comfort has only increased as both the saddle and my rear have become the best of friends! I never thought I could ever achieve 'arm chair' comfort on a saddle, how wrong I was! I shall be buying more Brooks saddles in the future for all bikes yet to be bought!
Hi, I'd really like the idea of the extra 'flex' this saddle offers for my MTB but I'm a little hesitant now hearing of how such saddle was used for touring and lost it's flex to a point that it was returned. Can you kindly assist in my dilemma?
Better yet, which of these models are best suited for MTB riding?
(I have steel MTB with no suspension whatsoever, hence why I'm trying to get the most comfort I can from a saddle)
Thanks in advance! :)
A> This model is great for MTB use, and the Select leather will ensure long life for years to come!
I guess that this saddle might be congenial with a racing bicycle, however, I "misused" it as a saddle for my touring bicycle and it lost suspension very quickly until the extent where it couldn't be further suspended (after about half a year and very roughly esteemed 8'000 km). I sent it to the retailer and fortunately, they gave me a new saddle.
A> This saddle is really only for use with racing bicycles, we're afraid.
I am 12 years old and want to have a brooks saddle. I've read on your webpage that people thinks the seats are very comforrable. I'm about 1.7 meters high. Would I could experience the same comfort?
A> Yes, you can also expect to enjoy great comfort when using the Swallow. Happy Riding!
love my black bike.shame b15 swallow select with only one clour would look silly.
any chance of a black one with copper rivets? in hope, Roger Higgs
A> Not this year Roger, but in the future who knows?
